Designing Emma Frost’s costumes in ‘X-Men: First Class’
Sunday, July 10th, 2011Talk about fashion, which Emma Frost is known for! After The Hollywood Reporter released exclusive photos of January Jones on their website, designer Sheldon Turner spoke to them about Emma’s scantily clad costumes in “X-Men First Class,” which caught the attention of the mainstream media for a while.
Turner said they remained as close to the comic books as possible “without (January Jones) falling out of them.”
Here’s a rundown of three of the many outfits January Jones wore in the movie.
“The material used for her bra and skirt had teeny-tiny glass beads that the seamtresses had to take off before making the garments, Sheldon says of Jones’ labor-intensive shimmery get-up.”
“The pearlized leather catsuit (a nod to Dianna Rigg’s Emma Peel in ‘The Avengers’)…” is not PVC but a one-piece suit.
